A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE CHANGES OF LAND USE AND SOIL NUTRIENTS OF MOULOVIBAZAR
The survey was conducted in Moulovibazar Upazila under Moulovibazar districts of Bangladesh during 2013 with the object of co-relating the previous nutrient data, analyze the nutrient status, determine the reasons of depletion of nutrient, observe soil fertility condition and consequently find out the reason for land use changing in the particular area. The study area is under the physiography unit named Surma- Kusiyara River Flood Plain. There were mostly three soil series found in the study area notified as Balagonj, Goyainghat and Phagu. A significant change in fertility along with land uses was found in Moulovibazar Upazila. Extensive changes were found in land use in 2013 as compare to 1995. Organic Matter (OM), Nitrogen (N), Potassium, Sulpher and boron range was increased during the period. On the other hand the status of Phosphorus (P) and Zinc (Zn) was sharply decreased during these sixteen years of time.
