INFLUENCE OF GYPSUM FERTILIZER ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF KOHLRABI
This study was to estimate the influence of gypsum doses on growth and yield of Kohlrabi. The experiment was carried out in the Horticulture Farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University during January-March, 2021. The experiment was consisted of four treatments: Control (T0); 100 kg/ha (T1); 125 kg/ha (T2); 150 kg/ha (T3); and the study was following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The vegetative growth and yield contributing parameters of Kohlrabi showed significant variation. The results illustrated that, the higher doses of gypsum fertilizer influenced vegetative growth and yield positively. The highest knob length (5.9 cm), knob diameter (82.3 mm), single knob weight (236.7 g) and yield/plot (11.3 kg) observed in T3 treatment. Furthermore, application of different doses of gypsum fertilizer increased yield significantly and recorded (29.4%), (32.5%) and (46.5%) higher yield in T1, T2 and T3 over control treatment. Therefore, application of gypsum fertilizer with the doses of 150 kg/ha could be the prominent fertilization along with the recommended doses fertilizer for Kohlrabi production.
