An attempt has been made to examine the impact of Transforming rice land to fish farming on income according to four farming systems. Farmers were classified into four categories such as: only rice farming O-R-F, only fish farming O-F-F, rice-cum-fish farming R-C-F and alternate rice fish farming A-R-F. For this research, 120 farmers were selected of which 30 O-R-F farmers, 30 O-F-F farmers, 30 R-C-F farmers and 30 farmers from A-R-F systems. The farmers were selected from three areas namely Dhanikhola, Boylor and Trisal sadar from Mymensingh district. A stratified random sampling technique was followed. It was observed from the research that income was Tk.55,375.27, Tk.53,319.61, Tk. 31,590.84, Tk. 23,471.53  for O-F-F, A-R-F, R-C-F and O-R-F farming system. The highest income of was found in O-F-F farming followed by A-R-F and R-C-F and O-R-F  farming systems due to shifting their farmers’ land from rice to fish based farming system. Therefore, the concerned authority might take a decision to encourage farmers to adopt O-F-F farming in other parts of Bangladesh. Number of fisheries extension officers need to require for increasing fish production.
