The field of agriculture, as a consequence of population surges and rapid climate change along with other natural and man-made factors, now faces several challenges to maintain productivity and sustainability. These challenges can effectively be overcome by adopting advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, machine learning, Internet of things (IoT), etc. The global agriculture sector has already begun applying artificial intelligence to tackle production-related problems owing to its higher accuracy rate and greater problem-solving capacity in real-time at a much greater speed than traditional methods. Bangladesh, despite being fairly new to this concept is slowly catching up to the vast potential that AI possesses in developing our agricultural sector. Implementation of proper guidelines for using AI techniques and making them accessible, affordable, and easily understandable, can increase their adaptability among the farmers. Furthermore, with a comprehensive collaboration between government and non-government and private organizations, AI-based solutions can be transmitted among the farmers, which will transform the agriculture sector of Bangladesh. Subsequently, assisting our country in fighting the challenges that lie in the path of ensuring maximal productivity and environmental safety.
