DETERMINE THE CHANGES OF SOIL CHEMICAL PROPERTIES AND LAND USE PATTERN OF RAMGATI UPAZILA

The survey was conducted under the Physiography unit of Lower Meghna Flood Plain consisting mostly three soil series notified as Bajora, Borda and Homna in Ramgati Upazila under Laxmipur districts of Bangladesh during 2013. The main objective was to co-relate with the previous nutrient data, analyze the nutrient status, determine the reasons of depletion of nutrient, observe soil fertility condition and find out the reason for land use changing in the particular area. A significant change in fertility along with land uses was found in Ramgati Upazila. Extensive changes were found in land use in 2013 as compare to 1997. Organic Matter (OM), Nitrogen (N) and pH range was increased during the period. On the other hand the status of Phosphorus (P), Potassium (k) and Zinc (Zn) Sulphur and Boron was sharply decreased during these sixteen years of time.
