ECONOMIC RECOVERY AND MACROECONOMIC OUTCOMES OF THE COVID-19 POLICY INITIATIVES ON BANGLADESH ECONOMY

Bangladesh is one of the growing economies in the world. Average GDP growth rate was 2 or 3 percent in the 1970s which has reached in 8.2 percent in 2019. But, the outbreak of COVID-19 has hampered in the growth path of Bangladesh economy in 2020. Several measures have been taken to reduce the impact for COVID-19. Therefore, the present study has demonstrated a number of steps that have been taken for the recovery of Bangladesh economy due to COVID-19 along with the economic recovery and macroeconomic outcome of policy initiatives of Bangladesh economy. This study used secondary data for the analysis collected from different published sources. Descriptive analysis showed that Bangladesh economy is rebounding as a result of taking various policy measures. The study suggests that if it is possible to implement of all measures effectively by meticulous planning, Bangladesh will achieve its target within short period of time.
