EVALUATION OF TWENTY TWO SUMMER TOMATO GERMPLASM UNDER POLYSHED CONDITION

An experiment was accomplished in the Horticulture farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during April-July, 2015 to conduct morpho-physiological study of twenty two summer tomato germplasm under polyshed condition. The Germplasm denoted G1: ACI summer King, G₂: BINA Tomato 2, G₃: BINA Tomato 3, G₄: AVTO- 09809, G₅: AVTO-1007, G₆: AVTO-1009, G₇: AVTO-1002, G₈: AVTO-201, G₉: BARI-4, G₁₀: Lakshi, G₁₁: JP-13, G₁₂: JP-26, G₁₃: JP-27, G₁₄: Sweden-2, G₁₅: Netherland-13, G₁₆: Sweeden-5, G₁₇: Apple Netherlands, G₁₈: SAU san-001, G₁₉: MAL-3, G₂₀: Purple-4, G₂₁: CSN-1, G₂₂: Orange 4 were evaluated arranging in a Randomized Complete Blocked Design (RCBD) with three replications. Among the germplasm, maximum no. of leaves plant-1 (60.2), no. of flower plant^-1 (64.0), no. of fruit (40.0), single fruit weight (100.7 g), yield plant-1 (4.7 kg) and yield ha^-1 (35.7 ton) was obtained from G₄. So the germplasm G4, viz., AVTO-09809 can be recommended as a prospective variety for summer production.
