IMPACT OF TEACHER’S TRAINING ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING AT THE HIGHER SECONDARY LEVEL IN BANGLADESH

This study tried to examine the impact of teachers’ training on English language teaching at the higher secondary level in Bangladesh. English language teachers’ perceptions were the main sources of data for this study. This study selected 20 English language teachers from ten colleges of Dhaka district as the respondents of this study to collect the primary data. A mixed-method research approach was applied to conduct this study. A survey questionnaire and in-depth face-to-face interviews were used as the instruments for collecting data. The Quantitative data of this study data was collected from 20 English language teachers through a questionnaire, and qualitative data was collected from four teachers through in-depth interviews. In addition, secondary data for this study was collected from journals, articles, and research papers. The study examined teachers’ perceptions of the impact of their training on teaching the English language. The findings of this study reveal that teachers’ training has a positive impact on English language teaching.
