IMPACTS OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM ON DECISION MAKING OF THE ORGANIZATION

This study was intended to evaluate the impacts of Management Information System on the decision making of the organization. The study was guided by the objectives to find out the impacts of management information system and to find out the relationship between management information system and decision making in the organization. Information system is a combination of various resources such as hardware, software, database, network and people for collecting, preserving and processing data for providing information to the organization. Management Information System is mostly practiced information system in the business organization. The study employed descriptive design and data are collected from secondary sources. After reviewing various literature the study findings revealed that management information system provides structured and real time information to the management. Using the above findings, it implied that there is a strong relationship between management information system and decision making of the organization. According to the study, management information system plays a vital role to make decision in the organization by providing needed information, analyzing and understanding the situation, identifying the problems and supporting the management team.
