INFLUENCE OF BIO-FERTILIZER CONCENTRATION ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF OKRA (Abelmoschus esculentus)

The aim of this study was to determine the influence of bio-fertilizer
concentrations on growth and yield of Okra. The experiment was conducted in
Horticulture Farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University during August-October,
2021. BARI-1 okra variety as plant materials and Eco-Agra as bio-fertilizer
were used in this experiment. The study was consisted of four levels of Ecoagra
application as bio-fertilizers: (i) Control (T0); (ii) 2ml/L (T1);
(iii) 4ml/L (T2); (iv) 6ml/L (T3) and arranged in a
Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The vegetative
growth and yield contributing parameters of okra were measured, and they showed
significant variation. The results illustrated that, the higher doses of liquid
bio fertilizer influenced vegetative growth and yield. The maximum number of
pod per plant (14.0), yield per plant (187.2 g) was found in T3
treatment. Furthermore, application of different doses of liquid bio-fertilizer
increased yield significantly and recorded (18.1%), (51.6%) and (59.0%) higher
yield in T1, T2 and T3 treatment over no
application of Ecoagra. Plant height showed positive correlation with all the
yield related parameters significantly while internode length of plant showed
negative correlation. Therefore, application of 6ml/L Ecoagra would be the
potential for okra production with higher yield.
