Bioinorganic chemistry has been a developing field
and this paper undertakes to find out how metal complex has been used in
medicine and diagnostics. Since it’s an exploratory and analytical research its
main aim is to assess the therapeutic and diagnostic use of metal complexes,
its effectiveness, working, and possibilities for advancement. Information was
gathered from scientific journals only from either the related conference or
report written by well-known organizations in the field of bioinorganic chemistry.
An analytical approach of systematic review of the published literature was
conducted with the use of databases and keywords selection as well as
identification of the 25 most relevant studies published between 2000 and 2024.
For the purposes of evaluating trends, outcomes and challenges, quantitative
and qualitative content and statistical synthesis data analysis were used. Bioinorganic
chemistry explores metal complexes with significant potential in medicine and
diagnostics. This study systematically reviews therapeutic and diagnostic
applications of metal complexes, analyzing 25 peer-reviewed studies from 2000
to 2024. The findings highlight their role in anticancer therapy, antimicrobial
resistance, and medical imaging. However, challenges remain in toxicity,
stability, and targeted delivery. This study suggests an interdisciplinary
approach to enhance the efficacy and biocompatibility of metal-based drugs.
