SUPPLEMENT LED LIGHT SPECTRUM ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF INDOOR VEGETABLES PRODUCTION

An
experiment was conducted at the Horticulture Innovation Lab., Sher-e-Bangla
Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during October 2018 to March 2019 to
evaluate the potentiality of LED light spectrumfor enhancing the indoor
vegetables production. Vegetables like tomato and brinjal were used and
consisted of two parts and conducted with four led light spectrum treatments
viz. T0 (White), T1 (White+Blue), T2 (White+Red),
T3 (White+Blue+Red) were used in this experiment following split
plot design with three replications. Data on different growth and yield
attributes parameters were taken in this experiment. All the studied parameters
were greatly influenced by different LED light spectrum. Among them,
combination of white, red and blue LED light spectrum (T3) showed
better result in number of leaves, SPAD value, number of branch, number of
flower, number of fruit, fruit length, fruit weight, yield per plant while
plant height recorded the highest in T1 (White+Blue) treatment.
