The main purpose of this study was to determine the extent of impact of dolochun in terms of changes in yield and profitability of Cabbage production. Sreepur upazila of Gazipur district was the locale of the study during the period of March 2013 to April 2014. Sixty respondents were selected as the sample of the study by using proportionate random sampling technique. The yield of Cabbage was 72,650 kg/ha in dolochun using farm whereas in dolochun non-using farm it was 65,400 kg/ha. The differences were 11.08% and the corresponding t-values were 4.064, significant at 0.01 level of probability. Net return coming from that production was Tk.93,211 and Tk.76,302, respectively. The benefit cost ratio (BCR) of selected cabbage was found 2.68 under dolochun using farms whereas dolochun non-using farms were 2.45. The study reflects that, the impact of dolochun application in acidic soil for cabbage production is certainly a very good practice and it can improve the yield efficiency as well as profitability of the farmers.
