WHAT WOMEN SHOULD WANT: A STUDY ON KATE CHOPIN’S SHORT STORIES

This paper studies four selected short stories of Kate Chopin, published in the late 19th-century American setting, and analyzes the psychological needs of the female protagonists through a feminist eye to examine the commonality in each of the protagonist’s struggles, analysing the portrayal of their (protagonists) stories, specifically reflecting the setting (time and place) the stories are based on, and in general, that of the women of all times and places, especially of the modern time.
